Credit management experts Intrum Justitia have strengthened their push into the telecommunications and information technology markets.
Michael Visagie has become the latest addition to the firm’s Business Development team, having previously worked with some of the biggest names in the sector, including BT, Carphone Warehouse and Teradyne.
Owen James, Intrum Justitia’s UK MD, said that the telecoms and IT sectors present major opportunities for growth.
He said: “We are looking to expand our relationships with communications companies, and we believe Michael’s appointment will help us achieve that.”
Mr Visagie established Wire Solutions and Connected World Communications Ltd in Warrington, where he was Managing Director. Most recently, he set up the UK and Irish operation for website creators Cortix.
Among many awards recognising his sales and management skills, he was named Top Sales Person at Teradyne and Telewest and Gold Partner by BT.
Mr Visagie said: “I have always had a passion for developing new business and there is huge potential within the UK market.”
Founded in Sweden in 1923, Intrum Justitia has grown into Europe’s leading expert on a range of credit management services with offices in 23 different countries working with more than 90,000 individual corporate clients.
It employs nearly 3,000 staff, 200 of which work out of its UK headquarters in Liverpool city centre. The company works with some of the country’s biggest names in utilities, finance, retail and media.
