Intrum wins outstanding conduct award

UK business recognised at independent Credit Awards

Credit management group Intrum has won the Outstanding Conduct in Collections Award at the twentieth annual Credit Awards.

The independently-judged awards, organised by publication Credit Strategy, took place in London on 16 May. The event rewards excellence and innovation in the credit and collections sectors.

As well as winning Outstanding Conduct in Collections for its innovative and sympathetic work with customers in debt, Intrum was highly commended in the Public Sector Team of the Year category. The firm is helping change the way local authorities collect their debts after launching a joint venture with Hammersmith & Fulham Council.

In addition, the team made the shortlist in three other categories: Best Company to Work For; Best Rebrand and Best Vulnerable Customer Strategy.

UK Managing Director Eddie Nott said he was delighted that the business has been recognised for its work in customer service in the collections industry. In 2018, 94% of customers rated their experience with Intrum 8-10 out of 10, a figure that has since risen further.

“The team is totally focused on securing good outcomes for consumers in debt, treating all customers as individuals and working with them to find the right repayment solutions,” he said.

Nott added: “We are also thrilled that our public sector initiative with local councils was highly commended. We continue to expand the number of local authorities and debt types we are working with, bringing private sector best practice into the public sector and offering an alternative to bailiffs.”
